Your accommodation

One of the two beautiful Romanesque churches located at a walking distance from the Relais

The Relais de Saint Preuil is one of the few hamlets representative of Charentais architecture of the 17th century. Its remarkable site in the slopes of the vineyard of Grande Champagne and its careful renovation in respect of local architectural traditions make it one of the most beautiful guest houses in France.

The charm of the old days blends for the best with a discreet and subtle decoration as well as the comfort of our era.

You can have up to fourteen luxury rooms, organized in four independent rooms and four family suites and apartments, which fulfill the highest requirements for seminars, family reunions, celebrations or private weekends.

In addition to its quality accommodation in the Grande Champagne vineyards, the Relais is also the best place for connoisseurs from all over the world in search of cognacs with a strong personality and aged for decades in traditional family wineries.

Your destination

In the village of Saint Preuil lie a Remy Martin vineyard and a Hennessy vineyard, seen here from the top of the hill opposite the Relais

The Relais de Saint Preuil is located in the heart of the vineyard of Grande Champagne.
The discovery of this vineyard offers surprises. Here are a few :

- You should not confuse the vineyards of Champagne and Grande Champagne
- As in Champagne (where the famous French sparkling wine is produced), the product elaborated in Grande Champagne is world famous: the premier cru cognac.
- The Grande Champagne vineyard is part of the largest vineyard of white wines in the world and the second largest vineyard in France (78,000 ha or 190.000 acres): the vineyard of Cognac.
- In Grande Champagne there is the largest concentration of traditional distilleries in the world, far ahead of Scotland.
- Some young cognacs from Grande Champagne are used to make Pineau des Charentes but also ... Port !

- In Grande Champagne, cognac is also drunk as an aperitif and pineau des Charentes as a digestif.
- In Grande Champagne, to find cognacs of 40 years of age and more is common. Here, the art of giving time to time is cultivated. It’s our real luxury
- The Grande Champagne is the country of the Slow Attitude: locals like to sit down and take time to enjoy a good cognac. Segonzac, its capital, is the first French town labeled Cittą Slow.
